  1. In Studio, choose the template Book companion.
  1. Name it and give the book's title, the author and a cover.
  1. The instructions come ready for a book: answer from it, cite chapter and page, never speak as the author.
  1. Upload the book (PDF, ePub or Word). It stays yours and is never used to train any AI model.
  1. You land in your own console: make a program from the book, invite readers with a code or QR, add articles.

User manual: your companion live in eight steps

What you do in Studio, from sign-in to your first readers.

  1. Sign in: Go to studio.mindfulnessinc.org and sign in with your email and the password you chose.
  1. A new companion: Tap + Class at the top and choose the Book companion template.
  1. Key and name: A short key (lowercase letters, digits, hyphens) and a display name. The key becomes your readers' web address, for example your-book.class.mindfulnessinc.org.
  1. Look and instructions: Add a tagline, a colour, the book title, your name and a cover if you like. The instructions come from the template; you can keep them. The roster can stay empty.
  1. Your book: Choose your book (PDF, ePub or Word) and press Create class. Keep the page open while the book uploads and is read, a few minutes.
  1. Your first journey: About a minute later a starter journey is drafted. Open Admin, Content, Screens & flows, look it over in the preview and change any words. Nothing is live until you press Publish.
  1. Invite readers: Admin, Members, Invites: one shared code with a cap, or personal codes, with a free period in days. The codes are shown once, so save them.
  1. Add articles (optional): Admin, Content, Material, Add an article, by web address or pasted text. The companion then answers from it and gives the link.

Every change to the code is checked by an AI model from a different company before it goes live, plus more than 10,000 automated tests.

Encrypted

Encrypted when stored and when it travels, each conversation with its own key. Stored in Frankfurt, in the EU.

Every companion walled off

No companion can read another's data. The wall is in the encryption itself, not in instructions to the AI.

Never used for training

Your book and your readers' conversations never train an AI model. To write a reply, the message goes to the model provider, Anthropic in the US, under the EU's standard contract clauses; its commercial terms rule out training.

Readers stay in control

They delete everything themselves, any time, or send forget me on WhatsApp. Conversations are deleted automatically after a set period. No tracking cookies, no ads, no data sales.

Costs have a ceiling

Hard spending limits, so a burst of use never becomes a surprise bill.

Each companion has its own public trust page, for example your-book.class.mindfulnessinc.org/trust.

Free, on your own website, no sign-in

Readers ask your book a question straight away and get an answer with chapter and page. You choose the version: Light, with short answers from a small model, or Extended, with longer and deeper answers from a heavier model. Extended costs you a little more.

Premium, with sign-in

A conversation that remembers, the program per chapter, your library, booking a session with you, also on WhatsApp and in the app. You choose the model.

Built-in protection

If one visitor or one IP address uses it very heavily, the answers slow down automatically. They are never refused, and your costs stay bounded.

Always insight

You see how many conversations and messages there are and which chapters raise questions; with premium also how many members. No tracking: we count conversations, not people.

What it costs

We are at the beginning, and we would like to grow together with you.

1. Set-up

Do it yourself in Studio for free, with your own web address under Kusala. Your own domain is possible too. Would you rather have us set it up? A one-off EUR 750 to 1,500 per book. For that we load your book, set up the program and the tone, and go through a few rounds of improvements together.

2. Running

Free version: you pay for a bundle of messages per month, Light costs less than Extended. Premium: EUR 2.50 per active member per month for the AI model, hosting and your book index, with fair use underneath. Do your readers pay themselves? Then the costs come off first and we split the rest 50/50.

3. Support

The basics are included: incidents, updates and questions by email. Want more, such as a fixed response time and a monthly check of content and numbers? Then you start at a low introductory price, matched to your use. After a year we look together at whether it fits. We do support together: our AI agent Steward and Koen in person.

Custom work, separately

Whatever extra you want, such as recordings of you as the author, group chats or hybrid sessions, we agree together, in mutual consultation and trust. Everything the platform itself learns comes to you automatically: everyone benefits.

Built and published under your name in the App Store and Google Play. No charge for now: we build the first author apps with people we know and trust.

Check with your publisher beforehand whether your book may go into a companion, and whether the publisher asks for a share of the revenue. That determines what we make public.

Bringing the companion into your own offer, such as a book with a course? Then we deliver at cost plus, and you set the price for your client.
